Tips & Tricks: Getting the PTA Involved

We've had a number of teachers mention that the best way for an idea to spread throughout a school has been to talk about new services at the monthly PTA (parent-teacher association) meetings.

If you've seen that a number of parents don't know about your schools LearnSpring accounts or if there are teachers who have not actively promoted LearnSpring to their student's parents then the PTA meeting is a great place to do a little promotion.

THe success of LearnSpring at your school depends on how eagerly teachers and parents take part in the process. Teachers must use the service on a regular basis and parents need to use the service as well so that the teacher does not feel like he or she is wasting their time.

We've heard of two different strategies for promoting at the PTA meetings. The first option is to drop a note off for the PTA president or secretary and have them make an announcement at the beginning of each meeting. Doing so ensures that LearnSpring is brought up at each meeting and and encourages both parents and teachers to look into the service each month.

The second option for promotion at a PTA meeting is to ask to make a quick announement in the opening moments of the meeting (when everyone is still paying attention).
